ETHAN IS 7!!!

We also had Ethan's birthday on Saturday May 10. He is the big 7! He was so happy about his birthday! All week he was telling me about this birthday book he would get at school. I had no idea what he was talking about and was expecting a little gift from his teacher. Well she went above and beyond anything this boy could hope for. On the student's birthday she has him stand up and tell everyone all about themselves. All their favorite things to do and play and everything! Then each kid in the class writes a half page note to the birthday child and draws a picture of one of his favorite things on the back. Their teacher then spiral binds it and its a little keepsake. One of Ethan's friends wrote, "You are cool, cooler, coolest!" And drew a picture of an anaconda on the back. SO CUTE! He has read it all weekend and even chose it for his bedtime story one night!

So for Saturday we had my mom, Ben and Katie, Mitch Cara and Marin, Blake and Courtney, and us for BBQ, presents and cake. I had a meltdown with the cake and JaDee saved the day! He iced it for me. Yes, the cake was all JaDee. And I have vowed to never NEVER do another character cake! I will order out or convince them that they really want one from Costco...I guess that is the same as ordering out huh! Either way I quit!

But I did have an excuse. I felt like crap. And found out Monday morning that I have strep throat. I think this is the 3rd time since Thanksgiving for me to get this. No one else has it and I HOPE no one comes down with it. I am so sorry to my party attenders if they get sick...I truly did not even have the beginnings of a sore throat until Monday morning. I thought I was just stressed...which also happens occasionally.

Anyway, here are some pictures and all of the chicks and birthday. Ethan got a 4 wheel scooter called a Fusion, a can crusher, another Ugly Doll, a mitt, Bionicle, lego Star Wars and a NeoShifter. All very cool and very thankful for them! Ethan loves his Birthday and he loves all of you!

Thanks again for the party. So sorry to hear you have strep AGAIN! Of course Marin is sick too. I think it's not strep though because no fever-- just disgusting runny nose and cough. Hope you get feeling better soon. Oh, and I think I left that whole bag of clothes you were going to give me! Oops. I guess that will be a good excuse for Marin and me to come and visit soon!

A little quote or two...

“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. Campbell

I always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston
