Puppy Love!

My neighbor has 2 Brittany Spaniels, Dottie and Rusty. Rusty is the newly acquired boyfriend for Dottie in hopes that she will have puppies soon. Well all morning yelps of ecstasy (or terror) filled the air. And of course I had to peak at the two lovebirds. And what I saw made me laugh out loud! Dottie is trying hard to get Rusty off her, but he is stuck! Seriously! Dottie is trying to throw him off and Rusty will not let go. Then Dottie throws him off but not ummmm... out. They are stuck butt to butt and the yelps are now from Rusty! I call JaDee and he says that yeah, that happens sometimes and yes IT is bent backwards to get him stuck that way and you just have to wait it out. Well after about a half hour my neighbor comes home. Dottie sees her and pops off Rusty, who then immediately starts to survey the damage and licks himself for the next half hour. I guess Dottie ran into the house and hid behind a chair for the rest of the day!

ETHAN IS 7!!!

We also had Ethan's birthday on Saturday May 10. He is the big 7! He was so happy about his birthday! All week he was telling me about this birthday book he would get at school. I had no idea what he was talking about and was expecting a little gift from his teacher. Well she went above and beyond anything this boy could hope for. On the student's birthday she has him stand up and tell everyone all about themselves. All their favorite things to do and play and everything! Then each kid in the class writes a half page note to the birthday child and draws a picture of one of his favorite things on the back. Their teacher then spiral binds it and its a little keepsake. One of Ethan's friends wrote, "You are cool, cooler, coolest!" And drew a picture of an anaconda on the back. SO CUTE! He has read it all weekend and even chose it for his bedtime story one night!

So for Saturday we had my mom, Ben and Katie, Mitch Cara and Marin, Blake and Courtney, and us for BBQ, presents and cake. I had a meltdown with the cake and JaDee saved the day! He iced it for me. Yes, the cake was all JaDee. And I have vowed to never NEVER do another character cake! I will order out or convince them that they really want one from Costco...I guess that is the same as ordering out huh! Either way I quit!

But I did have an excuse. I felt like crap. And found out Monday morning that I have strep throat. I think this is the 3rd time since Thanksgiving for me to get this. No one else has it and I HOPE no one comes down with it. I am so sorry to my party attenders if they get sick...I truly did not even have the beginnings of a sore throat until Monday morning. I thought I was just stressed...which also happens occasionally.

Anyway, here are some pictures and all of the chicks and birthday. Ethan got a 4 wheel scooter called a Fusion, a can crusher, another Ugly Doll, a mitt, Bionicle, lego Star Wars and a NeoShifter. All very cool and very thankful for them! Ethan loves his Birthday and he loves all of you!

I am in trouble!

My old buddy Kim got on me today for not being a responsible blogger and not updating my site...Guilty...So here is the low down. We are currently raising 2 baby chicks. Carter's class hatched them and we offered to adopt 2 of them. Our friend Scott, also has 2. We are taking all 4 up to the farm to join Grandma's new flock. She has a refurbished chicken house for her brand new chicks that she is raising for eggs. Carter named his chickens Fluffy and Mr. Feathers. Can you just imagine that trip to WY... 3 kids, a dog (because Champ goes everywhere) and 4 chickens. Oh my, a travelling zoo!

We put them in a box in the laundry room with a heat lamp and a screen for a lid to keep out Dogs, Cats and Olivia (not necessarily in that order). Surprisingly the cats have no idea they are even here. Olivia is quite content to just watch the "peeps," as she calls them. It has been Champ that we have to watch. He runs downstairs and goes on point at the box every time the laundry door is open. So again, Imagine that trip to WY!

Headstrong and feisty. You have a mind of your own that's full of romantic dreams about the world around you. Exploring exotic places is your ultimate dream, and although you can be a little naive you'll realize that there is something to be gained from your family's wisdom

I had to take this quiz. Its kind of cute! Try it!

A little quote or two...

“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. Campbell

I always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston
