Decision

So the poll on whether or not Olivia was to young for a kitty was a bit helpful except that it turned out to be a tie and the decision is thrown back on me again! But I have decided not to get Olivia a kitty for her birthday. Mainly it was Ranae's comment about her son almost killing the cat on a daily basis. And Olivia almost killed her son over the cat last time we were there. So that is my decision. Thank you constant readers!

On a totally different subject...I am so in love with Ethan right now! His teacher told me he is an absolute joy to have in class and so fun. When he answered the question "What is an even number?" he stood up at his desk and with a flourish. Proceeding with hand gestures and voice inflection Ethan defined what an even number is.

OK so I love all my little monkeys and to be fair when I get this blog bound in a book at the end of the year for posterity to cherish I had better say something about the other two.

Carter is doing so well in school. His class got to go to a nearby elementary and read to first graders. They bring books and a stuffed animal for the little tykes and get to be the teacher and/or mentor for an hour. I am so proud of him when he comes home and tells me how he doesn't like to sit next to certain people at lunch because they talk about inappropriate subjects at lunch.

Olivia, Olivia...what can I say. She runs me ragged and makes me laugh every day. Lately we have been playing with her toy fairies and their house. Turns out there are ogres under the house. Who knew! But rest assured they are nice ogres. Now the monsters that fly in her room are only nice when you tell them to be. Her imagination is running wild!

I am currently reading Duma Key by Stephen King. I have been a fan of his for almost 20 years. I don't think I have missed a book. I even had an English teacher my junior year compare SK with Nathaniel Hawthorne. And yes, King is a literary genius!

Thanks for your comment on my blog.

We've avoided getting a pet all these years. Haven't regretted it once;)

I need another good book. I've read SK a few times. Maybe I will pick up another one.

A little quote or two...

“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. Campbell

I always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston
