An Emotinal Day
Anyway it was a very emotional time for all of us but of course more so for JaDee. He has served and loved the people in our ward. He also had the unique opportunity to serve Young men, Young Women and Primary and got to know the children and teens in our ward individually. There are very few callings in our church were the men get to serve with the Young Women. They were good for him and prepared him for his daughter.
He was conducting and it was fast Sunday. When the Stake presidency released them JaDee had to get up to announce the sacrament portion of the meeting. He stood up and no words came out. I have never seen him that emotional. I was crying, the boys were crying; all 3 kids were piled on my lap as close as possible to me as they could get. We were a little pile of Moncurs in the middle of the chapel.
We made it through the meeting, each bearing our testimonies. We do know that our callings our called of God and that the Bishop was inspired to make these changes. Bishop Johnson was sad to change out his counselors and thanked them warmly. He said he could not have made it these past 3 years and set up our ward without them.
So it will be off to new ways to serve. I still teach Gospel Doctrine and love love love my calling. We have so much fun in Sunday School and I have to say that is unheard of in most cases! We sure are looking forward to General Conference this weekend. The boys because I make cinnamon roles for breakfast every Sunday Conference morning.
Now for those of you wondering what the heck I have been talking about...Mormon congregations are called wards and organized geographically which in Utah means that every few blocks is organized into a ward. Typically a ward is 300-500 people. A group of several wards makes up a Stake. The leader of each stake is a stake president. He has 2 counselors and they serve everyone in the various wards of their stake with the help of 12 High Councilmen. Each ward is lead by a Bishop and he has 2 counselors as well. They run the day to day affairs of each individual ward. It is a tremendous amount of work and Mormon clergy is unpaid. We are a very service oriented religion and that philosophy starts first with family, which is the reason I stay home. Second with the ward; everyone has a job from the bishopric, presidencies of the organizations within the ward, teachers (I teach adult Sunday School) and music leaders etc… and third with our communities and the world. Hope this helps!
A little quote or two...
“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving
"Education enriches the mind and enlightens the
soul," --Nicole Moncur 2008"Reading can be dangerous." --Diane Setterfield, The Thirteenth Tale
BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. CampbellI always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston

Hey Nicole! Sorry I haven't been on my blog in a week. The email I check the most is ranny26@hotmail.com. I am really lame about my gmail account. But besides from that I'm going to try and check my gmail now and see how I can help with Alaska. Do you really think this is going to happen?! Talk to you soon
Well I hadn't heard the news. I think JaDee was an awesome bishopric member and I highly doubt it will be his last time in a bishopric (or bishop, sorry to say). That's what you get for marrying a natural leader. The Moncur boys' emotions sure surface at random times. Mitch has cried maybe once that I ever remember and then all of the sudden, he cried his way through Anna and Allie's baptism talk. What good guys we married. Well I'm sure you'll be happy to have your husband around a little more often!
