Friday Festivities

A little blog that I spy on, by linking from my sister's blog,(but you can see it here) started doing something called Friday Festivities which posts something she loves. It is to balance out her Monday Maladies where she posts something she hates. So I am taking a stab at it. I can't promise it as a regular feature, because, I really don't think I will remember to do it beyond today.

So here is something I love:

This momma and baby were actually on my back porch! We had the dining room window open and could almost touch them. Champ saw them through the (closed) sliding door and went ballistic. I tried to tell him it was not a squirrel but he didn't listen and had to go to the garage until they were gone. Then all night he stood guard by the back door, just in case.

So these guys , plus the 2 I saw in Anchorage this week brings the total on the Moose Counter up to 52 total moose we have seen in Alaska.

That is very cool. So did you ever get your snowblower to start? Or is that a Monday Maladies story? :) Oh, and I haven't even started Fablehaven 2 yet...I need to hurry and catch up!

A little quote or two...

“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. Campbell

I always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston
