as if I don't have enough to do...

I should be finishing a tutu for the school play and sewing an arm on another costume that ripped out...since the dress rehearsal is this afternoon and all, but I got blog hopping (aka wasting time) and found some pretty cool things to add to my to do list.

First...these beds from The Bumper Crop

I have been wanting to do this to our boys room.  I read the article and the room here is 12x13...the exact size of my boys' room.  I only need 2 beds though.  Plans for this bed from the amazing, and Alaskan, ANA WHITE!

So while I was browsing around Ana White I found this:

super ingenious way to solve my laundry problem and clothes storage problem for those boys.  Why even take the clothes out of the laundry basket when you can keep it all in one spot!

and this plan for utilizing the insides of closet doors!

I want to do this to every closet in my house. My yarn and fabric stashes are taking over my clothes space and that is just not right.  It's like trying to choose which child is your favorite when it comes to who gets the closet and who gets banished to the crawl space in the garage.  Just don't make me have to make that choice! Instead I will make my closets hold even more!!

Now I need some power tools to go with my glue gun and my sewing machine.

and last but not least I found a knitting shop in NYC (aka favorite place on earth). It was full of projects and patterns and easy stuff to make.  I recently have been making loads of head bands and even had a store ask me to sell them in their business establishment.  I was getting bored with the same one I have been doing and tried my hand at making up a new pattern. It went well, but turned out to be the size of a scarf or a headband for Shrek, so I have to make some adjustments before I feature that anytime soon.

I want to make this blanket, these hand warmers and just about everything else on The Purl Bee's site.

But first it is off to take Olivia to a friend's house and bring Carter the lunch he left at home.  Oh yeah, and sew some costumes!

Those beds look great, but I'm afraid my boys would end up diving off them constantly.

I love the closet organizer, Brooke has so much wasted space in her closet and I want Blake to build some shelving units in there. And Those beds look kinda scary, hopefully they are held tight to wall otherwise poor ethan is going to get smooshed!

Looks like you've got yourself some projects, girly. I love anything that helps with organization.....I find myself wandering down the organizing tote isle at Target imagining what closets/drawers/etc need more functionality and better organization. It's an illness....

What great ideas. Thanks for taking the time to research them for me. ;) I love being organized. I am probably a little OCD, but it just feels SO good! Maybe it's because it helps me to feel in control of at least one aspect of my life.

A little quote or two...

“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. Campbell

I always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston
