Park it!

I ended up driving a few of the parents into Anchorage today to see a play with the 8th graders at Carter's school.  My van was shockingly clean for winter, and I was good with having people see the inside of it.  But, it never fails that whenever I drive with strange people in my car something truly embarrassing happens that makes me look like the worst driver in the world.

This time it was 2 things.  First I got a parking ticket in the lot because I guess they didn't see the receipt that was prominently displayed on the dash, as the signs all over the lot told me to do.

Second, I mistook the side street we came out of for a one way street.  So instead of going the wrong way down a one way street, I was driving on the wrong side of the damn road.  Does it help that the road is covered in snow and no lines were visible and only half the streets in Anchorage are in fact, one way streets.

Embarrassing, I tell you.  Simply embarrassing!

your car drama made me laugh--which was badly needed since I found another round of poop vs. crib when Brooke woke up from her nap. Sadly, the crib lost...again.

LOL...It happens to everybody, and just recently Jed turned the wrong direction on a one way street...luckily the car coming towards us flashed their lights which gave us enough time to flip around.

So funny! And that never fails when driving with others.

On the upside, maybe someone else will offer to drive next time. ;)

Whoever thought up one way streets should have been run over in one.
The other day I changed lanes after double checking my blind spot and I still managed to cut off somebody in a very low-riding car. That's the first time I've received a bird in years.

Those one-way streets will get you. Tyler and I had more fights the first 3 months while living in Spokane because every other road was a one way.....talk about a nightmare :)

A little quote or two...

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. Campbell

I always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston
