Moose-tastic Give-Away!!

Thanks to this guy.......(or gal...they don't have antlers yet this time of year...)

I have now seen 100 moose in Alaska!!!

And as promised I am doing my very own blog give away.  You probably have a very good chance of winning this one since I don't have like, a billion readers.

Here is what is up for the winner.....

A beautiful photo book of the Chugach Stage park, which is literally my backyard; a cute mug, an ULU knife, a cuddly moose, and of course, some funky moose socks.
Here is how to win and the rules.

First I am actually going to draw two winners - WHAT?? TWO you say?  Yes, 2.  The package above is for all my out of state readers.  That is the first winner.  The second winner is for my in state readers and they will just get the book about the Chugach. Sorry Alaskans, but you can pick up the rest at Freddie's on your own, the book is really cool though.

So to enter, leave me a comment telling me a favorite memory that you have of me or a favorite post you have read ion this blog (this one doesn't count).... And tell me whether or not you live in Alaska (I think I know all 6 of you who read this and where you live but, let me know at least what state your from, just in case).

I will draw a winner on Friday June 10 or thereabouts that weekend. The winners will need to contact me via email (see my profile on the side bar for the address) by June 17 or I will have to pick an alternate.

Oh, and for the record, I am up to 109 moose.  Maybe when we get to 200 I will fly one of you up here...(don't hold your breath,  but it is a nice thought...we love visitors...)

So I am sure I am disqualified for being family but I will still tell a memory: you taking Steve and I to the park always; you getting mad at me for saying your bf farted during dinner (I was an obnoxious little sis, wasn't I?), letting me stay at your house when I was having a hard time my first year of college, begging you to let me play with your cabbage patch doll that you NEVER played with (even though I secretly snuck in and played with it when you weren't home), driving 17 hours with you to AR...I could go on and on!

I am hoping I win the free airline ticket;) j.k. We'll get ther someday, hopefully that will be our vaycay in 2012. Can't waft to see you in a few weeks!

Oh the memories are endless.. I remember the first day I met you when you riding your banana-seat bike. I remember sitting the on the "big" rock in yours/Karen's backyard discussing all the "important" things in life.. I remember saying good-bye when you moved away.. But most of all I remember FSIE - the best friends a girl could ask for!

Love & miss you from Syracuse, NY!

Well, I believe Tennessee is out of state, although my husband would KILL to live in Alaska LOL!

As you know, the Moose Counter on your blog has brought me much joy since day one! I feel like a winner just seeing that number soar!! I've always felt the whole moose experience could support a blog of its own.

So many great "blog buddy" memories!! Hard to choose. Aside from the moose, all the stories about your offspring, your adventures with bear "scat" and scaring bears out of your way, your cross-country ski adventures, your home decor updates, learning more about what your faith is all about, the quotes from your kids, updates about your family back home, iditarod updates...I cannot choose. You seem like a friend I'd love to hang out with in real life as well as back and forth in our cyberspace of friendship!

Congrats on the auspicious sighting of 100 or more Moose! I am happy to share in the joy!

Is it too late to enter! I hope not, I love moose. I'll have to pull out the old photos for proof but when I was 6 I fed a baby moose our old pumpkin from Halloween. Very unwise I know :)

Too many favorite blogs! My most recent was the ex-boyfriend dreams though. And I really like the handblender one.

And I'm in Utah.

I am in state...my favorite memory of you is when we went wedding dress shopping, and being scolded by the David Bridal employees who didn't want us to shop on our own. Also, when you tried to get me into a dress before unzipping it, so I got a little stuck. I blogged about it.

My favorite blog was about Xena your glue gun, or at least that's the one that comes to my mind right away. My favorite memory is you saying, "Em it scares me when I think of what you do for a living." Actually that's just the first that comes to mind but I love all of our laughs, photo taking, mess cleaning, child chasing adventures. I'm out of state but which state I'm from seems to change rapidly so Colorado today. Thanks for sharing all 100 moose with us. I'm so glad they make you so happy and I'm very glad you're not sending us moose droppings as a prize.

Hard to do a memory of you when we've never met, oh wait! We did that deal where you sent us your little handheld Nintendos! My kids still use them when they aren't stealing the batteries from them to use in their flashlights to read at night!

My favorite posts have been about your carpooling adventures. I think you should consider installing some ejector seats in your vehicle...

I just love all your posts, but most of all the car pool files are my very favorite....I still think you should write a childrens book about Picker & Puker!

Hi, Nicole!
I'm on Montana as you know. I think MT and AK are distant cousin states. I love seeing what Alaska looks like and I remember your post about travelling with your calling up to pretty remote areas--so interesting!

Favorite memories...all the girl outings we had. We had lunch for Linda and Annette's birthdays and we missed you. Our little birthday group is getting smaller.

Oh and two favorite Ethan memories are when he stood up in Sacrament Meeting and said he would 'Not sin on Sunday!' And the other time when he got loose and you chased him around the Chapel, up through the choir seats then got him at the bottom of the stairs...you called out "Got Him!" Sacrament Meeting is just not the same without the Moncur kids :0)

Yay for moose sightings :) My favorite memory was when you and JaDee came and tended us while my parents were on vacation. I specifically remember cooking with you both in the kitchen...However I hope this adventure of caring for three kids was not a bad memory for you - ha! Birth control, maybe ;)

Utahn - born and raised :)

MY favorite memory is of when you were little and we moved from Kent, WA to Corning NY and we got stuck in a snow storm going thru WY and the car broke down.. while I was outside freezing and trying to fix the brand new Plym Volare, you said a prayer that I could fix the car... I went back outside to look under the hood and there it was, ice over the carborator intake that was NOW connected around the headlite... you had alot of faith even back then. This is your Dad and I live in AR

A little quote or two...

“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. Campbell

I always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston
