hi-lo
...and while we were there we got to have dinner at a family's home and played the game hi-lo. Someone starts the game at the dinner table by calling on someone to give their HIGH points of the day and their LOW points of the day. And the trick to calling on someone is to often catch them with their mouth full :) So for example, at my house, while Ethan would be chewing because it would be funny, I would say, "Ethan, give me your hi-lo's for today."
So here are my hi-lo's as of late:
Highs:
- going to Nome with Vicky and Sarah
*this included seeing a dead walrus (I may need a new counter Meredith;)
*meeting, having dinner with, and getting my picture taken with real gold miners, one of which will be starring on a series produced by the Deadliest Catch people about dredging for gold in the Bering Sea.
* learning how to roll my own sushi
* the beyond fabulous people there who I love and getting to have a fabulous Super Saturday with them and attending Church on Sunday.
Lows:
- getting home at 11:30 Sunday night and feeling sick Monday morning
- Still feeling sick Tuesday morning and thinking this is the longest I have had cramps since I was like 16.
-Realizing at 3 PM these are not in fact, regular cramps but have turned into excruciating back pain on my left side and I can hardly breath therefore it is probably a kidney infection, since I thought I might have had a UTI last week but also thought went a way
-Confirming said kidney infection and having the doctor tell you that with your results you should have been in a lot more pain than this by now.
So last night was a treat for all involved. But I am better. In fact I woke up at 4 AM not because I felt worse like I was warned about and told to report immediately to the hospital if I did feel worse at all in the night, but because I felt better and was so happy I couldn't go back to sleep and decided to make a day of it and blog.
I am expecting another Low later this afternoon.
A little quote or two...
“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. CampbellI always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston

Oh those infections are the worst! Hope you feel better quickly! My quick fix before I can see a dr is to drink cranberry juice, that usually helps. But now I hate cranberry juice. Glad your trio was fun. I hope we are spared a pictures of the dead walrus :)
What is the difference in symptoms between a kidney infection and UTI? When I was first married I had UTI after UTI, terrible, terrible. But I did find that AZO makes cranberry juice tablets that you can just swallow without having to drink the actual juice. That was a saving grace because like Courtney I also hated cranberry juice.
Hope you are feeling better! Glad you had a good time in Nome...
Ow! A kidney infection? That sounds so painful! Don't be a mom; take care of yourself. Hope you are feeling better soon.
that's a great game! I'll have to try it out when Mark takes his next big bite of dinner. haha! I'm glad you're feeling better - don't have a relapse though, got it???
I just want to say you tell good stories on your blogs. It cheers me up actually. I wish you the best and I hope you have a Google "Follow" button on this. :)
OK, so for some reason, I hadn't seen that you've updated your blog from MAY! My computer saved THAT address, not your blog address...so I'm catching up!
I'm glad you enjoyed the sushi...should've made you drink more though! :-)
Andrew's a little worried about the Anchorage wards. He said he's gone to ER wards when he visits and everyone is super nice and introduces themselves, etc. When we return to Fairbanks, our old ward (FRIENDS) don't even say hello (well, I knew we were in the "snobby ward", but still!). I don't really want to move out to ER, but he does have a point....
