my secret

I was sick this week. In fact we all got it starting with Livs last Sunday, JaDee and Ethan Tuesday, Carter on Wednesday and me bringing up the rear on Thursday. We had your garden variety cold with fever. No big deal.

But this is why I like getting a cold.

I get to take NyQuil.

I love the stuff. I not only have the "Best-sleep-you-ever-had-with-a-cold" I have the best sleep ever with this stuff.

And I forgot to take it until last night! I only take it when I am really sick and since this is the first time in a year I have been sick, I have not had this magic elixir in a long time.

What is really pathetic is I could have really used it Thursday night when my worthless Advil wore off at 1 AM sending me into a frenzy of fever aches followed by a fever break two hours later that left me sweaty and uncomfortable; tangled in my sickbed sheets so that I kicked myself out and onto the couch. Which then meant that I was up from 1-5.

But I took it last night and slept for 11 straight, blissfully unawakened hours.

While I am still sick *cough* enough to take it tonight, I am pretty sure I will be well enough by tomorrow to not need NyQuil until the next illness that rolls around.

*sniff* (because I am sad, not because I have a cold this time).

I would say feel beter soon, but it doesn't seem quite appropriate in this case. Enjoy the sleep! I envy you.

So funny! I'm glad you have such good control over your secret:)

That is funny--maybe you won't be quite better tomorrow night and need to take it again. It seems safer to take it on the weekends though. Then you can sleep in and not have to wake up all grogyy. I guess Tylenol PM is my "Best Sleep I ever got with someone snoring in the same room" remedy! :)

Thanks Nicole!

A little quote or two...

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. Campbell

I always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston
