sick sick sick
He is sick too.
And we still went to bed at 10:30 and fell fast asleep. I slept the whole night only waking up to wipe my nose when it was dripping on my pillow. Too much information? Don't worry. I changed my pillowcase this morning.
JaDee called in sick and since it was my day to drive the carpool, he let me go back to bed and he took the hooligans to school.
I slept until 11:00. I feel like I got hit by a very big truck and my nose is running like a leaky faucet.
But we had a good weekend. We finally came out of our sub zero temperatures and got some snow last week. Carter got to have an awesome time on his last day on the ski bus to Alyeska and skied his little heart out. The rest of us took our snow machines up to Nancy Lake and brought a picnic and had a great time. Nancy Lake is state recreation area with tons of lake and trails connecting to each other. We saw people on skis going out to the public use cabins and even people on mountain bikes with snow tires on them. It looked cool.
I was in a bad mood since I wasn't on my skis. Snow machines are fun, but they are loud and stinky (exhaust) and I am a little scared of them. I would much rather enjoy the solitude of my skis and the physical exertion I get from going on them.
I have yet to get out on my skis to enjoy this new snow and 22 degree weather. And to me that is a big bummer indeed.
This week I have an advisory board meeting at Ethan's school. I have lunch with the ladies I visit teach tomorrow. I have to go to play practice tomorrow and help with costumes some more. I have quilt group on Thursday, and this weekend I get to go with the Relief Society from the Young Single adult ward to a retreat at a lodge. I was asked to give a small class on healthy eating for one, and I am going to make Spring Rolls with them.
There is no time to be sick.
A little quote or two...
“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. CampbellI always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston

Wagh! I hate those kinds of colds! That's when you just grab a double roll of toilet paper for your nose and hope that you're better when the t.p. is gone.
Hopefully it's not the kind of cold that lingers. Do you think having a "picnic" is 20 degree weather contributed to your cold? ;)
Sorry to hear you are sick! I hate cold and flu season. It seems like the family (because, of course, if one person has it, we all have it) gets over one illness just to get another. Yuck.
