half way there
There are close to 6000 miles between us.
While I have been folding laundry, hosting a playdate, and getting ready for a date with JaDee, Little Bridger is getting poison pumped into him that is so toxic his mother has to wear gloves to take him to the bathroom to avoid getting any of it on her. He has been puking since noon Central Daylight Time, and I have been eating strawberries smeared with Nutella.
Kind of surreal.
And all we can do is pray.
But sometimes prayer is enough. Our Heavenly Father hears us and Jana and Blake and Bridger feel our love through prayers of their own. The Holy Ghost is providing comfort, peace, and strength for them as they watch Bridger fight for his life. The positive attitude this little boy has is remarkable. He says he loves this hospital because of all his new nurse friends. He can still smile for the camera even as he loses all color to his faces and pukes his bacon from breakfast.
He is strong enough to fight this crazy disease that renders him unable to fight off the very bacteria that is probably living on this keyboard of mine right now.
And so as I feel panicked, afraid, and helpless here in Alaska, I too will pray for him and for my own peace that what I am doing is enough.
A little quote or two...
“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. CampbellI always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston

I hope everything goes okay. Keep us updated!
We'll add some prayers from Oregon. That's just awful they have to take his little body that near death just to reset things. Somehow it just sounds barbaric.
Nicole, I can't imagine how nerve racking it must be for you. Poor little Bridger is in our thoughts. Hang in there!
Please keep us updated. I cannot imagine how hard this must be for your family. Prayers of strength and comfort for you all.
Thanks
