Sisterly Love

I left my sister all teary eyed at the airport...the first time. See I missed my flight Tuesday due to a schedule change and had to spend one more day in Utah. At 77 degrees, let me just say there are worst places to be stuck. But yes, even though I will be back in June with all the Rug Rats in tow the parting from my sister, Courtney, was sad. As she is the new mom to a very delicious baby, we mourned our waistlines, decent nursing bras, the Twilight movie, jeans with a higher rise (but not granny style), and cute underwear.

But the true testament to sisterly love was the morning we awoke at our mother's house to our options for breakfast. "I have 2 packages of Strawberries 'n Cream oatmeal and 4 packages of Peaches 'n Cream," our mother announced to us from the kitchen after we both agreed oatmeal was the breakfast of champions.

Courtney and I paused. Each knowing it takes 2 packages of instant oatmeal to feed anyone and also knowing that we both wanted the strawberry variety. The pause grew longer and I also knew that while I prefer strawberry, peaches are just fine. Whereas my sister is notorious for her picky eating.

I call out, "I want Peaches 'n Cream." And almost hear the sigh of relief as Courtney quickly follows with, "I'll take Strawberry."

This is me with that yummy baby. Stay tuned for more Utah pics and posts.

My trip was wonderful!!

It was so great to see you.
I'm glad you made it home, and hopefully all was well with the house and kids;);)

I miss seeing you. After 4 years of living only 20 minutes apart, 3000 miles is no fun! I can't wait to see you again in June. Glad you made it home on the second flight. That was crazy!

A little quote or two...

“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. Campbell

I always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston
