When I was in high school, many, many moons ago, the term "wicked" was added in front of any and all adjectives. In fact one of the running jokes between JaDee and Ben is when Ben described himself as looking "Wicked smooth" for the senior prom. JaDee cracked up over that one and never fails to tell Ben when he is looking especially Wicked smooth. The wedding next spring will be a non-stop wicked smooth-fest.
And I have noticed that everyone has the January Blahs. Everyone's blog is a little slower.
Cara posted a "You know you grew up in the 80s list."
cjane is on hiatus. My new
blogger sister has had the same post up for like 5 days. Don't these people know that blogging is the only social outlet I have here in Alaska!!! I need to be entertained! Facebook is even dragging a little. I'm leaving comments for people talking about fighting for the remote control with their husbands.
So while all ya'll got the January blues, I am bouncing off the walls for two things:
1) After 7 weeks of living in what is starting to resemble an actual pig sty we move into our house Friday!! Did you hear that! Children to their own rooms (OK the boys still have to share but they at least get their own beds) animals back to the garage (it is heated, don't worry). A kitchen bigger than the condiment counter at 7-11! Oh the humanity! (but I do have 250 boxes to unpack...gulp)
and 2) I am coming back to Utah for Wicked!!!
Last July 2008 about 10 couples in our neighborhood scored Wicked tickets when it comes to Salt Lake. Thinking that I was surely available April 17, 2009 I got in on that action. Right before we headed off the Great White North I remembered the tickets. I told Sharon to hold that thought because I was going to see what I could do.
And because JaDee feels sorry for me (as he should) and because he has enough miles saved up, I am going to be in Utah for 5 whole days by myself. I will have to carefully plan an itinerary for a full 5 days of fun. I have
Courtney's baby to see and
Cara will have her baby by then so I can get all my baby squeezing done. I have a fun night out with friends for the show planned, and I need lunch with Jen and good gossip with Naomi, and a bull session with Ranae. I better see my Mom and those 2 brothers of mine, and of course the future sister in law and I had better go shopping. Whew! I can hardly wait. (In case you couldn't tell by my blogging about something that hasn't even happened yet)!
As I said in high school, "Its gonna be Wicked cool!"

I'm a little slow on the blog info as well. Infact, I have the same 80's post as Cara. I got it off another blog I read. Just slow times I guess. I'm sure February will be more exciting.
I'm so glad you get to come to Zion, and shop, eat, play and visit. You will have a great time, and April will be beautiful.
Finally, the big move in. I'm so excited for you. It will be fun to read your post on the house adventures;);)
I am definitely slower. I am super excited for you to move into the house and jealous of your Wicked tickets. I saw Courtney yesterday and Brooke is getting so big! Good luck with the boxes!
Dear Nicole,
This is from your crazy friends at USU. We read your blog daily and it makes our day. On the topic of the LMFD (Little Miss Front Desk).....we have now nicknamed ourselves the LMFB's, (Little Miss Fish Bowls) It was Kristy's idea after we read your blog. Hope the move-in goes great......we don't want to see any delays on your blog just because you are moving. Keep the laughs coming !!!!!

Hey Nicole, you better plan a few hours to spend with us here at USU. WE would have a PARTY!!! We sure miss ya!
No way!!! 5 whole days without kids or hubby....you lucky dog!!! I'm so jealous...and in Utah no less. And btw, we totally use wicked all the time...and we're huge fans of Jamie Oliver who is a wicked awesome cook and uses wicked to describe every wicked yummy dish he makes!
So I finally updated my blog, so you have something new to read! I'm so excited that you get to move into your house and am even more excited that you'll be out here in April! You better include me in that shopping trip with Katie--I can finally buy things other than maternity clothes!
Woo hoo! I have a feeling 5 days might not be enough for you to do all the things you want! I'll sure be excited to see you! Marin and I are feeling SO dang cooped up and wishing we could get the girls together and play! When is Ben getting married? Are you guys coming for that too? Congrats on moving into the house TOMORROW!
so sad i did not make you list...
I know you don't know me but I thought that living in a hotel in Alaska made for an interesting situation so I'm checking to see if you're out of it yet. I'm glad you're getting into a house soon!
Wicked sounds great. I think it's coming to Portland, but now my husband is talking about a new job lead, so now I don't dare try for tickets. Lucky you.
I remember when my friends from NY came out to Utah for a Phish show and they were like wicked this and wicked that...I was like ssshhhh, they dont say that out here. They will make fun of you! Now they all think that wicked is cool. Well wicked cool then! :)
