Are you kidding me!!!
First up, my mom called last Sunday morning to tell us there was an earthquake in Alaska and that the news was reporting its effects were felt in Anchorage. I was asleep and didn't feel a thing, but JaDee and the boys all felt the rumblings and the mirrored closet doors apparently shook. It was a 5.8 or so and about 60 miles away, so all was well. We did joke, however as we set off for 1 PM church in Eagle River, wouldn't it be funny if we stepped outside to see the BP building flattened next door as we sat in our curtain lined hotel room. Nope, all was well.
And in case you haven't heard, there is a volcano practically on my front yard ready to explode ANY DAY NOW!!!
A little quote or two...
“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. CampbellI always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston

WOW!!!! I have a feeling you will have lots of adventures in the future. Hopefully none that are scary, just blog worthy;)
Is today the big move in day?? Good luck, and don't forget to give "Miss Frontdesk" a big hug goodbye;)
Good luck with moving! That's funny that mom had to call YOU to tell you there was an earthquake instead of the other way around! Will we need to call you to tell you the volcano errupted? You need to post some pictures of your new house when you get settled.
yeah, mom was in UTAH to tell us about the earthquake. and since we do not have TV in our house yet you might need to call me to let me know school is cancelled do to volcanic erruption!
Nicole, So I was thinking that you arrive in December on the coldest December ON RECORD, then are here on the hottest January ON RECORD, and I completely agree with your wondering about Alaska. I have been wondering myself. Now today, Friday, it's snowing and beginning to look like the winters I've remembered for the past 24 years here. Hopefully, the snow will have you and the kids sledding and skiiing, and awaiting the volcano.

Is that anywhere near you??? Be wary!!
Can't wait for more news about your new home!!
Of course this is the worst winter and of course there was an earthquake and of course there is going to be a volcano erupt outside your door...it wouldn't be the life of the Moncur's if everything went smoothly.
A volcano??? That close? You gotta be kidding me. What excitement over there! Thanks for your comment on my blog about me and my husband. I showed him. He thought that was really nice. You are sweet!
This is turning into quite the adventure, eh? These are the stories that will leave your grandchildren wide-eyed and amazed! I mean, a volcano, an earthquake, extreme cold...it almost sounds made up! I am so glad for you to be able to move into your house. We did the hotel thing for a week with one of our moves, and I think I was borderline suicidal by the end. And that was without pets! Good luck!
