A bear hunt

Olivia and I went driving tonight in search of 2 things: a bear siting and a sleeping pre-schooler. We got both.

After 15 minutes of driving we came upon a black bear walking down the road. I stopped and he crossed in front of me, got right next to the passenger side and hopped over the guardrail into the woods.

I was most excited. Now I do not have to leave fish guts in my backyard to attract them.

15 more minutes got me that sleeping child. It was 11:30 PM. And still day light BTW.

PS- Little Kitty is in isolation after what we think was a run in with a car. She was favoring her back right leg and then stopped eating and got really lethargic. So $350 later I found out she has "soft tissue trauma" and was sent home with pain killers and strict orders to keep her quiet and inside until she feels better.

pps- do you like the new layout? I love it!

I am jealous you saw a bear in the wild. i so want to see one. So I expect to see one when we come visit you...even if it involved fish guts! I hope little kitty is okay and I do love your new blog. You always find cute websites for them.

Way to go 2 for 2! Love the birds on the layout - how are your birds?

A little quote or two...

“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. Campbell

I always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston
