Seriously so eavesdropping

At the fireworks the other night I was sitting very close to 3 young  newlyweds. The 3 girls had grown up knowing each other and were back in town visiting family and hadn't seen each other for a long time. I got to hear their catching up and couldn't help but think about Seriously So Blessed.

Girl #1: (plops down practically on top of Ethan, what is it about personal space when a group gathers for fireworks?) I saw a diamond! Let me see! It has been soooooo long since I saw you!

Girl #2: (Flashes the diamond with a flick of the hand)

Girl #1: "Oh I love it! I just got mine cleaned. See!" (pulls out her own diamond which is what she really wanted to show off anyway but had to pretend to be interested in Girl #2's.)

Girl # 3: "Oh I love it! Where is your baby? I heard you had a baby!"

Girl #2: I'm pregnant. Did you know? I'm having a girl.

Girl #1: "Oh I have a girl. It is soooo fun. I love being a mom. I love doing all the mom things. I love dressing my little girl up." (when the baby finally made an appearance she was dressed in blanket sleepers. OK it was midnight, but seriously, I was expecting a big patriotic bundle of ruffles)

Girl #3: Do you have any creative ideas? I need some creative ideas for when I have my kids.

Girl #2: I heard you were teaching dance?

Girl #1: Yeah, I did until I was like 8 months pregnant. And I was like, doing things that none of my students could do and they were like, WHAT! you are 8 months pregnant and you can do that. And I was like, yeah, its called a lifetime of practice.

Girl #3: Do you have any names?

Girl #2: I am thinking about Esmee. And for a middle name Renee. (OK did she really just reverse the names of Bella's baby in Twilight 4? And why am I the only one gagging?)

Girl #3: Do you have any creative ideas for kids? (What is up with her? I swear she said this a million times while I was eavesdropping)

It went on and on for a while. Then finally the fireworks started and the little newly marrieds scattered.

I could not have possibly ever been that bad. EVER!!

I am laughing! Did she seriously want to steal her baby name from Twilight? In a sad, sad way it wouldn't surprise me that someone would do that. One of my old roommates from Snow married a guy from Vernal too and was in town for the 4th. I thought about calling her and hanging out for a bit, but I didn't b/c I'm sure our conversation would have gone a lot like that one.

I am loving this! Since becoming a Seriously So Blessed reader, I can't help but notice when people act like this. My sister and I have to call each other with real life stories that belong on that blog. Thanks for making my night with this post! By the way, I was wondering if you have any creative ideas for kids???

I am laughing! Nicole, that is great. I'm also a SSB follower, and it cracks me up that fiction follows truth so closely.

So funny!

I think its even funnier because I probably would know them. Sad, huh? I can't believe the Twilight names! How funny.

A little quote or two...

“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. Campbell

I always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston
