Short lived dream

Remember how JaDee always wanted to be a counselor in the Sunday School presidency? Well he got released from that to be the Priest Quorum advisor. Which is a cool calling for him since he gets to plan the Varsity Scout activities and high adventures. And in Alaska the adventures can be really high!

I on the other hand am still struggling through cub scouts. I am now the Cub Scout Committee Chair person. I must say I thought I could be a little more useful here in Alaska. My mother in law just laughs every time she hears I am in cubs. Seriously, she says, do they think you belong there?

I guess someone must.

In the mean time not having a permanent Sunday obligation leaves me free to substitute in Primary, Gospel Doctrine and Relief Society. I always seem to go through periods of low profile callings that allow me to step in wherever there is a need.

So I guess that must be where I can be of the most use.

I feel for you being in scouts. Obnoxious boys are not my thing. (I almost deleted this comment because I'm sure writing it down will certainly mean a calling of this sort is coming...=0) PS i emailed you info about the house I looked at today. Let me know what you think.

You're good, if I have a calling that doesn't have a permanent Sunday obligation I end up at home a lot more often on Sunday's.

I have a Sunday calling and yet somehow can't make it to ward activities during the week. What gives?

Be careful what you say... you'll end up Relief Society or Primary President! I have had to learn to love "obnoxious little boys" (love how Courtney puts it) a lot more since being in Primary. Poor JaDee. He loved that calling way too much to last. With the youth must be where he belongs, he he.

A little quote or two...

“There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.” -Washington Irving

BOOK HOUSE from the paper of my Grandfather Sidney W. Campbell

I always think the cover of a book is like a door Which opens into someone's house where I've not been
before. A pirate or a fairy queen may lift the latch for me. I always wonder when I knock, what welcome there will be. And when I find a house that's dull, I do not often stay But when I find one full of friends, I'm apt to spend the day. I never know what sort of folks will be within you see. And that's why reading always is so interesting to me. ~~Annie Fellows Johnston
